BenePLAN training will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at GWArc's facility at 31 Woodland Road, Waltham. This training is critical to understanding wages and benefits as it affects GWArc individuals who are working or wish to work.
The training is described below:
BenePLAN, a program of UMass Medical School's Disability, Health and Employment Policy Unit, will deliver one 2-hour presentation for GWArc that will focus on the effects employment and earning wages has on a participant's eligibility for state and federal public benefits such as SSI, SSDI, health insurance, housing and food stamps. Additionally, the training will incorporate information on the requirements for reporting earnings and available work incentives such as Impairment-Related Work Expenses (IRWEs). This training will also provide GWArc participants with information, knowledge and resources to move forward with career goals by reducing the fear of jeopardizing benefits as a barrier to employment.Reference materials will be distributed to participants.
